TESTIMONY: "I am a lazy, sofa sitting, carb munching, excuse generating, tv watching workaholic. I started about 8 months ago. ~30% body fat content (I had a lot of help from my friends at Pringles and In n Out). I train primarily with Joey who methodically puts me into an extended series of free weight induced, contorted positions that would leave me sucking floor after an hour. I started with twice a week and I left drained each time. After 10 weeks, I started going thrice a week. I can now proudly tell you that I am now 19% body fat, dramatically flattened belly with a 6 pack threatening to form, and able to participate in physical activities such as strenuous hikes in the Santa Cruz mountains without worrying about needing a medi-vac.

Joey is a former body building competitor. He focuses his training around classic weight training and core exercises. Lots of targeted weights movements and ab crunching/planking movements. I think he secretly thinks that everyone needs a 6 pack whether they ask for it or not. Go with Joey if you want someone that is methodical and ready to convert your fat to muscle and get really strong and toned. (Ladies, Joey loves making his clients do squats.)

Tish is an accomplished track&field athlete and is ranked nationally in long jump. She focuses on total body obliteration in 1 hour. Lots of different exercises focusing on using your own body weight (i.e. push ups, dips, TRX thing, medicine balls) at a hyper fast pace. I recommend Tish if you are more into high paced cardio cross training instead of pumping iron.

Tai, Maggie, Eddie, and Dan are also trainers there. I haven't trained with them yet so I can't comment on their styles. Tai also hosts periodic group fitness events for gym members + BBQ on Sundays.

Overall, this is a fun place to work out with a professional trainer. The prices are fair, especially if you buy sessions in bulk. But more importantly, the proof is in the results." ... J.C.
