TESTIMONIALS
"There are fitness amateurs out there who'll tell you to lift this, crunch that, run here, bend there - all while they peek at the clock or send a text before they pat you on the back after your session is up. Way back when I didn't know any better, I found a lot of these absurdly priced "professionals" at 24 Hr Fitness.
And then there's Tai.
Forget whole 'nother level, Tai takes you to a place where it hurts the most. He watches, corrects my form, encourages, corrects some more and just when I think I'm done, makes me repeat. I tell him that it hurts, I wail and complain and sweat, and cry and he even nods sympathetically and says, "I understand," but the bastard still makes me do another perfect rep.
At the end, I've always walked (okay, crawled) away with the knowledge that I've put EVERYTHING I've had into my workout because Tai would accept nothing less. My only regret is not finding him sooner. Five perfect stars." ... Jane
"Never thought I'd do this. Pay for personal training
I mean. I'm not "New Years Resolution Girl," you know,
that person who joins the gym around the 1st of the
year and drops out before Valentines Day. That's who
I always see working with personal trainers - people
who need the motivation just to show up. That ain't
me. But after years of regular sessions at the gym
grinding away at cardio and lifting weights I just
wasn't getting anywhere. So I thought I'd try personal
training. Personal training at my regular gym was
out of the question. The rates were too high and frankly
I kept seeing those same people week after week and
whatever they were paying for wasn't changing their
bodies. So searched and found this place (THANKS YELPERS!).
I sent an email to Sunnyvale Fitness to ask if they
could help me out. I got a reply in 15 minutes along
with a detailed explaination of what they do, where
they do it, how much it costs, why I should choose
them over other places, and an invitation to check
out the gym and ask my questions. I'll admit that
when I first saw the gym I wondered where all the
equipment was. There weren't any selectorized machines,
just a couple cable machines, a squat rack, couple
benches, some freeweights, couple treadmills, couple
bikes, and lots of "stuff" like medicine balls, mats,
resistance bands, swiss ball, weighted punching gloves,
etc etc etc etc etc. I wondered what kind of workout
I could get on that stuff. It looked kind of weak.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah. Let me tell you. Tai worked
me HARD on all that "stuff." I have only had 4 sessions
and I already have visible definition in my arms.
4 sessions! The workouts vary depending on your goals
so I can't really tell you exactly what to expect
but I can tell you that it's worth your time and $
to check this place out. It's amazing. The gym is
private so you and your trainer won't have to wait
for equipment or space to free up like at a regular
gym. The most people I've seen in there including
staff and members is 5. The rest of the time it's
just been me and the trainer, solo. If you're shy
this is the place for you. Check out their website
for more details or just call. It's a great place
to begin your fitness routine or take your training
to the next level." ... Mary M.
Tai and his crew are simply phenomenal at what they do! If you're looking for 1:1 personal training in the South Bay - this is the place!
I trained with Tai for a couple months and he basically kicked my ass everytime. What else can you ask for?
Furthermore, I have the utmost respect for trainers that are in great shape and "walk the talk". Tai's done Ironman Triathalon's...and that says a lot.
Give these guys a shot and you won't regret it." ... Josh P
"I just wanted to thank you and Dan again for helping Amber to reach her goal of competing in the Triathlon. I just saw the results online, and she actually finished in 35:48 which was very exciting news for her. I will always remember the night before the race when she said, "I didn't think I would ever be able to do this". It helped me realize how far she had come. Thanks again and again." ... Rosella F.

"You can't get a workout this good in an hour by yourself.
There's no way. If you have lots of free time by all
means keep training on your own. But if your time
is precious then give Sunnyvale Fitness a call. They
will help you lose the jiggle when you wiggle. Believe
it. There is a reason why this gym is getting busier
when the other gyms are cutting their hours." ... Mary M.
"I had a great time doing work-out with Eddie. He's an exellent trainer and it's really a pleasure working with him." ... Jin Q.
"After doing the treadmill at home for years I relized that I just wasn't getting the results that I used to. I'm getting married in August and wanted to be in the best shape of my life,a big factor in trying out S.F was that it is not a crowded gym and their fees are the most reasonable around.Alot of other trainers wouldn't even give me rates by e-mail or phone, they wanted me to "come in and talk".Tai responded to my e-mail right away and gave me exact prices and times he was available.I thought I was in decent shape after doing workouts at home for years,Was I wrong!! Tai has kicked my butt and there have been a few times I thought he was trying to give me a heart-attack by working out so hard--but when people started asking me what I was doing for exercise-and commenting on my defined arms- I knew I had to keep it up! I can't recommend Tai highly enough-he keeps the workouts upbeat and changing all the time so you can't get bored,he's funny too! I've lost weight, body fat and inches in 2 months and I can't wait to see the end result at my wedding in August! Thanks Tai!!!" ... Alicia E.
"I was a pathetically weak girly man when I started working out here. I'd been weight training for 4 years, but without too much progress. I still had 11" toothpick arms, and was weaker than most 16 year old girls.
My 1 rep max bench press was about 100 lbs, I could deadlift about 200 lbs, squat was 140 lbs. Bicep curls were with a 50 lb barbell for 5 reps. For reference, I'm 5' 7" and was 145 lbs when I started training.
With such pathetic numbers you can imagine I lacked motivation and my workouts had been stagnating for a while.
I worked with Pei from February until June. I went to Sunnyvale Fitness 3x a week for weights, and did cardio + light weight training myself 3x a week. I can 1 RM bench 145 lbs now, deadlift 250 lbs, and squat 210 lbs. These are still not amazing numbers, but are much more respectable for someone of my size. One can't ask for much more progress over of the course of just 4 months. I've gained about 5 lbs of muscle as well." ... Rishi G.
They helped me put together a training plan to help me get ready for my half marathon in October - they set realistic goals that help this lazy person get off her butt. Thanks!" ... Mabelle A.
"Sunnyvale Fitness is the place to go if you want personal training one on one. The most important thing for me at this place is that you dont have hundreds of people looking at you. You get your full attention from your trainer the entire time you are there. The staff is really nice, they listen to what your goal is and work with you accordingly, giving you a a mind set of how time and effort to reach your goal, show you what to do and how to do it. Very positive, motivating. No yearly contracts, very reasonable monthly fees. You actually get what you pay for. Sunnyvale Fitness is an awesome place with very friendly staff." ... Sabreen K.
